Mareti Guesthouse
Shushana Putkaradze a 49 years old school teacher and mother of three children, started her small guesthouse business in Paposhvilebi, Shuakhevi seven years ago. She was very dedicated to her work reflected in the increasing number guests. She wanted though to improve her guest house experience with better accommodation but how?
Sushana had heard on TV that the governmental program ‘Produce in Georgia’ was issuing funds for business development, but she didn’t know how to apply orwhere to start. Shushana decided to ask for help from Shuakhevi Women’s Room. The Women’s Rom Manager helped her to develop a business plan and to apply to the programme. A grant was issued through the programme worth 10000 gel, which was spent on renovation and new furniture. Shshana has renamed the Guesthouse Mareti and Shushana Putkaradze and her family is ready to welcome more tourists to upper Ajara.
